Now in it’s third year, Picture Perfect Eden offers photo enthusiasts (professional and amateur ) a chance to capture wonderful landscape photographs from Eden’s cliff tops and viewing platforms. Picture Perfect founder, tour guide and professional photographer Peter Whiter said the tour has been popular since beginning three years ago.
“Photography wasn’t on offer and I thought this was a chance to provide something a little bit unique. The first day was overwhelmingly popular.”
“I arranged for two tours of 10 people. But when the ship arrived more people had booked. I ended up having three groups of 15 people in one day.”
The tour is popular with photographers coming from all types of backgrounds and level’s of experience. Mr Whiter said he has met many types of photographers coming from the cruise ships.
“It’s been so varied. I have had all sorts from professional sports photographers, grandmas, kids, amateurs to the very technical types. I enjoy teaching the craft as well as hearing the stories from the pro’s that come along.”
Oceania Regatta passenger and ex press photographer Larry Baum recently took the tour with his wife Trudy Baum. Mr Baum said the couple from New York have participated in many photography tours around the world
“They’re [photography tours] always fun and are a great way to get to know people,” Mr Baum said.
“Mr Whiter has a great eye, it’s interesting to see the world through somebody else’s lens.”
Mr Whiter said the tour always ends with a casual round table chat over coffee at one of the wharf side cafes.
“Although we start the tour as strangers, we always end up as friends and all of us in love with photography and Eden.”
