While we can’t bring you the business awards every day, the team at Georgie’s Fine Jewellery are making sure one lucky person walks away from this year’s gala dinner on December 6 with a lasting reminder – a glittering 30-point diamond, to be exact.
The diamond giveaway, worth $1000, is one of the major drawcards at Eden’s night of nights this year, and Georgie’s Fine Jewellery owner Georgie Staley is thrilled to be involved.
“It’s a beautiful round diamond – the most popular shape universally,” Georgie’s owner, Georgie Staley said.
“With 30 points, it’s a third of a caret in a nice colour and with a nice clarity.
“Georgie’s has been in Eden since 1983, and after going to school here, I’ve always felt a really strong connection with this town.
“I’m very proud to still have a presence here and to still be part of this community.”
Georgie’s involvement in the event extends well beyond the diamond giveaway, with the Eden store in the running for ‘best retail business’.
Georgie and staff member Genevieve McGuinness have also been nominated for ‘best customer service by an individual’ – a glittering endorsement.
“We’re very honoured to receive those nominations,” Georgie said.
“Our customer service is and has always been at the forefront of what we do.
“We’re always thrilled and grateful to have people patronise us.”
The diamond giveaway is Georgie’s latest Business Awards offering, having supported the event since its inaugural year.
“It takes an enormous amount of organisation and a lot of people give up their time outside of their normal work hours to make it happen,” she said.
“You’ve got to support the town if you want the town to support you.”
Nominations for all six categories close on Monday, November 17 at 5pm, ahead of the black tie gala presentation night at Jigamy Farm on Saturday, December 6.
