Chairperson of Imagine Eden Joanne Korner has been successful in obtaining a $10,000 Community Action Grant from Facebook for events and community projects.
Joanne was thrilled to receive the good news this week.
"I can't believe it! It was a bit of work to get the grant but we fit the criteria, so I thought I would give it a go," she said.
Joanne said the group had also received a $2500 grant from Bega Valley Shire Council, also for community events.
"It's great they are supporting Eden so we can make things happen for the community. Mitch Nadin and Robyn Bain in particular have been very supportive," she said.
The money will help fund the upcoming Easter weekend event in Eden, contributing towards the necessary insurance, security, cool rooms and supplies.
Any additional funds leftover will be used to purchase some banners for the flag poles on Imlay Street and towards a mural Brett Ralph will paint on the corner of Chandos and Imlay Streets.
The Easter weekend event is set to be big, including egg hunts, exhibitions, a garage and book sale, a community band and a Navy performance, duck races, plus more.
"We want the whole town rocking for Easter," Joanne said.
There will be an opening for Brett Ralph's Big Blue mural on the corner of Imlay and Chandos Streets on Friday afternoon.
Sunday morning will offer a special sunrise service followed by the church service at the RSL hall, where Margaret Henry will play piano.
