Following containment work on Sunday, several dozers have been brought into the area to travel on unsealed roads and cut the lines that emergency services personnel believe are necessary.
One dozer had been brought into Ballantyne Road and at lunchtime was about to be off loaded and "walked" towards the Sugarloaf Fire Trail area. A second dozer was being lifted off at Ruggs Road to travel up the unsealed road where road conditions deteriorate as the road climbs through the heavily wooded area.
Peter Tinson of Forestry NSW said although the fire was "benign" at the moment after rain and calm conditions, it remained uncontained.

"We have fire burning between Ruggs Road and Copelands Knob Road but we can't get through and so the plan is to offload the machinery and walk it up and remove dangerous trees," Mr Tinson said.
"We have Ian Slaters dozer on Ballantyne Road and that's going to Copelands Knob Fire Trail. This fire is uncontained."

Along Nethercote Road close to the intersection with the Princes Highway just south of Eden there is evidence of one of the edges of the Border Fire which is still smouldering close to electricity infrastructure and where there has already been containment and clearing work by dozers.
A number of homes are without electricity at Nethercote.
Mount Darragh Road to the Back Creek Road turnoff and the length of Back Creek Road show no signs of fire impact and it is possible to drive the length of Back Creek and Nethercote Roads, get into Eden and return.
