About 10am on Monday morning Bega Valley Shire Mayor Kristy McBain made the announcement, saying roads were being reopened as she spoke.
She said services were working to get safe access to Bermagui and a community meeting will take place at the town's surf club at 2pm for a briefing.
Mayor McBain warned there is currently still active fireground in the Bega Valley and while rain had begun to fall over the Valley in the morning she urged residents to not be complacent and continue monitoring the conditions and watching the NSW Rural Fire Service's Fires Near Me website and app.
Roads remaining closed include the Princes Hwy south of Eden, the Bermagui-Tathra Rd, the Wallaga Lake Rd, the Cobargo-Bermagui Rd and Dr George Mountain Rd.
