If there was ever a right place for Dr Richard Bradbury to be, it was on the Far South Coast as the bushfire crisis hit the region.

Dr Richard Bradbury is a general surgeon from Darwin whose parents live in Merimbula. He was holidaying in Merimbula with his family when the fires developed.
Dr Bradbury is also a burns and trauma specialist and initially offered to help at South East Regional Hospital Bega (SERH) for a few days.
When his family returned home, he generously stayed on in the region to assist and offer expert advice to local staff caring for those who have suffered burns in our community.
It meant that for those who suffered burns they had specialist care and knowledge on site at SERH.
Southern NSW Local Health District said it was "truly grateful for Dr Bradbury's expert knowledge and assistance during this time".
It is understood that Dr Bradbury treated a number of people from Cobargo, following the devastating fires in the village on December 31, some of whom had suffered nasty burns especially to hands and lower legs.
