NSW Rural Fire Service Far South Coast manager John Cullen said the fire was contained overnight using a water bucketing helicopter, dozers and a dozen trucks assisting crews.
The helicopter is no longer in use and left the scene at 8am Tuesday morning he confirmed.
"There are good accessible roads on either sides of the fire, Forestry fire fighters are now working on strengthening containment lines and are undertaking an extensive mop up to ensure there is no escape," he said.
Mr Cullen said they were hoping to have the fire "knocked out " before fire conditions are predicted to deteriorate later in the week.
He strongly urged people to have their fire plans in place, reminding them of the "super dry" conditions.
"Take care of your actions on dangerous fire days- fires are easily sparked," Mr Cullen said.
Monday, November 18: Firefighters are currently controlling a blaze on State Forest land at Pericoe.
NSW Rural Fire Service Far South Coast manager John Cullen said a call out was received around 2pm this afternoon and the fire is currently being controlled by RFS and NSW Forestry Corporation South Coast firefighting crews.
"At present we have six hectares burning in a pine plantation adjacent to property of Bonnie Doon. A helicopter and machinery are being used to contain the fire," Mr Cullen said.
