Chloe Bretherton, aged 17 of Merimbula and Madi Lightly, aged 15 of Numbugga, train three times every week at Eden Area Gymnastics Centre for three hours each day, on four apparatuses: vault, uneven bars, balance beam and floor.
Chloe's mum Lisa Bretherton said years of perseverance have led to the achievements of the young gymnast.
"She started when she was three and has just become more and more passionate as she has gotten older," Lisa said.
"Chloe has been very determined to make it to the states and will then step back a bit to focus on Year 12. She is hoping to get into science at uni next year."
According to proud mum Lisa, it is more than the gymnastics alone that keeps her daughter involved.
"It's a great opportunity with some wonderful trainers and a lovely group of kids, they are a really good support group," Lisa said.
"It's a really healthy environment, the kids are so focused on being fit and healthy and are not into sitting around on screens or a lot of other things teens get into."
"She also coaches three and four-year-olds and has always been really interested in health and sport."
Having competed in country championships and generally performing very well under pressure, Lisa said Chloe will be "over the moon" if she gets a ribbon.
"State competition is different, going up against Sydney teams and kids who spend every night training. She wants to compete and do her best," Lisa said.
Madi, who started gymnastics when she was seven, said she felt proud to be representing the Far South Coast at the upcoming competition.
"I'm excited to be going to state championships again... it's amazing to be there with all the other girls and is a really positive atmosphere," Madi said.
Gymnastics is my favourite sport and I just love it - it helps me to challenge myself as well as building confidence

Mum Renee said Madi's gym activities definitely required discipline and the team aspect encouraged a strong mindset.
"I think when they are surrounded by their friends they help motivate each other and spur each other on. Every time they're at the gym, they give it their all," Renee said.
Currently in Year 10, Madi aspires to compete at national level 10 by the time she completes school, and to get her double back on floor.
The state competition is being held at The Sydney Gymnastics and Aquatic Centre in Rooty Hill on Sunday, April 3.
