St Vincent de Paul Tasmania chief executive Lara Alexander said there was "no doubt" the expiration would lead to increased housing pressure and said there needed to be greater clarity about what would be stepping in after the end of the scheme.
"We need to understand what is the path forward after the scheme ends," she said.
"We need to know what's going to be put in its place."

Ms Alexander said that as none of the households on the scheme were currently homeless, it would make it more difficult for them to access housing after the expiration.
"So what will happen is that they'll be asked to join the queue, but they'll be at the back of the queue behind the 4500 already on the list," she said.
Ms Alexander's sentiments were echoed by Strike it Out founder Kirsten Ritchie who said she held fears for the Tasmanian affected by the upcoming changes.
"It just feels never ending," she said.
