World Wide Knit in Public Day was started in 2005 and is celebrated in more than 57 countries, with over 1000 events staged in 2019.
It began as a quest to show that knitting is not just for grannies but is an enjoyable activity for all ages. It also brings together community members who knit for a common purpose, often to support those in need of some extra warmth or to know that someone is thinking of them in tough times.
The mission statement 'Better Living Through Stitching Together' highlights the importance of community events and common purpose.
Come along and join the members of the Pambula - Merimbula CWA on Saturday, June 12, from 10am. They will be hosting this event in conjunction with the Town Markets, in Beach Street, Merimbula. Look for the CWA banner. Bring along a comfy chair and your knitting.
