Both calamari and arrow squid are available off the Merimbula Fishing Platform and small prawn-like jigs are working a treat. Best time just after dawn and sunset. Occasional kingfish and salmon are reported off the Merimbula Wharf and also around the Eden cruise ship wharf.
Bream are quiet in the Bega River which remains a little murky with a strong run out current. It is anticipated that the bream will come back onto the chew as the moon wanes, however good size dusky flathead continue to be taken at Mogereeka.
