A group of organisations have banded together to plan the free "Build It Up" event, aiming to reach some of the most isolated bushfire affected residents on the Far South Coast and treat them to a good time.

Vinnies community development officer Corinne Brown said the event is about community engagement.

"We had the idea of creating an event where all the communities can come together and enjoy a day just for them," Ms Brown said.

Live music, food and drinks, kids activities and a raffle will all be provided.

"The raffle will help us to hand out items that will assist with bushfire recovery, such as mini chainsaws for chopping firewood and vouchers for camping equipment and weekends away," Ms Brown said.

"There are still so many people living in caravans and without proper facilities."

Ms Brown said with so many residents living in more isolated locations, the organisers were using radio to try and reach people to invite them to the event.

"Many don't use social media or buy the paper and we want to make sure everyone knows about it," she said.

Together with Carina Severs, manager of Eden Community Access Centre, Ms Brown will be driving to some of the more remote properties to hand deliver flyers.

Ms Severs said there is very limited opportunity to engage with some residents in secluded locations.

"Without being intrusive, we just want to drop by and give them an invitation to come along," she said.

"While some have gone on and picked themselves up, there are many people who have still not accessed any level of support and are facing all sorts of problems on top of the trauma."

Areas such as Narrabarba, Lower Towamba, Wonboyn, Timbillica, Yambulla and Pericoe as well as Kiah and Boydtown will be approached with invitations.

"Everyone is invited but we especially want to target those local areas," Ms Severs said.

"This event is an opportunity for people to reconnect with each other as well as services and have a bit of fun."

Get Shorty will set the tone with some tunes and a local Kiah band will be playing during intervals.

The Green Shoots program will be introduced by Bega Valley Shire Council in addition to Biosecurity attending to hand out vouchers and provide guidance regarding weed management.

PCYC will lead bubble soccer and other activities for the kids and Fortem are organising cupcake decorating plus more. Showbags will provide both everyday essentials and treats for the kids.

Ms Brown said the organisers had had a good response so far, and true to form, many local residents were asking what they could do to assist in the preparation.

"It's for you guys, we just want you to turn up and enjoy the day."

The event will take place at Kiah RFS Shed on Kiah Hall Road from 11am - 4pm on Saturday, April 24 and community members are asked to bring a chair or blanket to sit on.
