Kristy-Lee Crowley, owner of Roswitha's Delicatessen in Eden is taking part in the World's Greatest Shave for the Leukaemia Foundation for the fifth time.
"I'm on a mission to 'shave the world' from blood cancer," she said.
Kristy-Lee feels strongly about the cause, having endured personal hardship, losing a loved one to leukaemia.
"My auntie passed away from leukaemia 20 years ago, she had a rare form," she said.
"Obviously it was a really hard time for our family. She was only 47 years old and I will never forget looking at her bald head and seeing how unwell she had become."
According to the Leukaemia Foundation, every day another 47 Australians are diagnosed with a blood cancer, which equates to one every 31 minutes.
Although ongoing research is improving survival rates, sadly an Australian loses their life to blood cancer every two hours.
"I want to help to give families facing blood cancer the emotional and practical support they need.
"Sponsoring me will also fund vital research to help more people survive blood cancers, while improving their quality of life.
This week, Tathra Lions Club have generously pledged $500 to the fundraiser which will be presented to Kristy-Lee on the day of the shave, taking place at Roswitha's Delicatessen in Eden at 10am on March 12.
Kristy-Lee said her long, curly hair will also be donated to make a wig for someone special.
