In sweltering heat and under the threat of thunderstorms a series of knockout rounds went ahead strongly with two teams from the Australian Navy joining in the fun as well as squads and players from Eden, Bega, Tathra and surrounds.
Organisers were thrilled with the turnout with around 150 players taking part across the day and they welcomed the two Navy squads who played as part of a community outreach visit to the area.
Club officials said they had hoped to invite the Defence Force for a community footy day following the summer bushfires, but plans had to be cancelled due to COVID-19 lockdowns.
On the field, speed proved the deciding factor in most games with the Seaside Health Club outfit one of the early contenders for the result on the day with some handy quicks getting the team through to the grand final.
They had defeated one of Eden's rosters in the opening round, while other Eden outfits went on to enjoy some close-scoring clashes with the Navy teams.
However, the Batemans Bay squad after eliminating the Tathra Sea Eagles in their opening round proved too fast for many with some bolters getting through the gaps and provide the visitors scoring opportunities.
The Bay continued their strong run through the day and into the grand final where the northern club were able to secure the points over the Seaside Health Club roster and take home the cash prize from the day.
Neil Baker and daughter Mackenzie were praised for their efforts officiating the games.
While in other Tigers news, the Senior and Junior clubs have voted to merge and a combined Tigers roster will go ahead with Leigh Hennessey as president.
