Police are wanting to speak to a 41-year-old Eden man after he allegedly refused to pull over along West Street around 9.50am on August 28.
Eden Sergeant Scott Blanch said a pursuit ensued and police chased the vehicle through Eden streets and bushland before it crashed into a tree in Flinders Street.
The driver allegedly fled into bushland leaving an injured 13-year-old youth in the vehicle. The boy was taken to South East Regional Hospital where he remains under observation.
Sergeant Blanch said a strong police presence would remain around the town until they spoke with the man in question.
Meanwhile, local police and Bega Traffic and Highway Patrol Command officers arrested eight drivers after allegedly testing positive to methamphetamine during a traffic blitz in the Eden area on Thursday.
A ninth driver was also arrested, allegedly testing positive to cannabis.
