After round nine matches against the Merimbula Grasshoppers, the Killer Whales emerged victorious on both accounts to keep their place atop the tables.
Club officials said the reserves had a decisive 3-0 win over the Grasshoppers, which now has the southern side comfortably five competition points clear of their nearest rival in the Pambula Grasshoppers.
Club president Adam Donaldson said the club's defence was sublime with just six goals against the Killer Whales this season, but it was growing energy in the midfield paying dividends up front.
"The midfielders are really starting to gel well together, things are clicking and we're seeing results on the board with those three goals on the weekend meaning more ball is going forward," Donaldson said.
Donaldson said four goals against the club had come in their one loss to Wolumla, which has served as a catalyst for the club to regroup and focus on fun and enjoyment of the game.
"We've changed up our training a bit to make it more sociable, it was a new focus on remembering we're supposed to be having fun - and it seems to be working," he said.
"The passing across the field on the weekend was probably some of the best we've seen yet."
Heading into the back third of the competition, Donaldson said a minor premiership would be nice, but the club was taking it "one game at a time" and just focusing on enjoying the game.
He said it was great to have retained a core group of players from previous seasons, but new additions to the club had also been valuable with around 18 players in the reserves alone providing depth.
"The new additions have all been great contributors to the squad and the club," he said.
Meanwhile, the Eden ladies outfit maintained their undefeated streak with a strong 5-0 result over the 'Hoppers ladies.
Pambula are again the club's strongest competition, but identically to the men's team fall five competition points in arrears of the Eden outfit.
Donaldson said it was great to see the ladies outfit continuing their form despite the loss of some key players after last season.
The Killer Whales have proven to be a high energy outfit with tremendous skills to lead the competition with a phenomenal strike rate on goals.
The club is also booming in the junior ranks with more than 100 registered young players taking part each weekend.
Donaldson said it was great to see the interest in the sport and club members adored seeing the young players smiling each week with the junior ranks forming a backbone for the future of the club.
