Local competitive surfer and Sapphire Coast Boardriders member, Arabella Tarpey, travelled to Kiama last Saturday to compete in the Ocean & Earth NSW South Coast Regional Titles.

Arabella, 15, was thrilled to finish runner-up in the tightly contested and highly competitive under 18s girls age category.

Facing similarly cold and blustery conditions as experienced on the Far South Coast over the weekend, officials said it was a thriller of a final.

Arabella has again qualified for the Ocean & Earth NSW Junior Shortboard State Titles in a competition where only the top two girls from each of the six Regional Areas compete (South Coast, North Coast, Sydney Northern Beaches, Sydney Southern Beaches, Mid-North Coast/Newcastle and Far North Coast).

The State Titles will be held over 5 days in Coffs Harbour in July. Arabella said she was stoked to be representing the South Coast at this prestigious event for the third time and again hopes to make the finals.
