Eden‘s skies are sure to look colourful with exciting new element of the festival being the kite display.
Committee member Shannon Woloshyn said, "The kite display is one we are particularly excited about and it is going to be spectacular.”
The Australian Kite Flying Association which also organises the popular Festival of the Winds in Bondi Beach is going to be flying kites of all sizes and shapes over the festival.
Ms Woloshyn said community members are invited to attend a number of kite making workshops leading up to and during the festival.
Kite making workshops will take place at 9.00 am at the Eden community markets this coming Saturday, October 20.
Wheelers Seafood Restaurant will also be hosting a special family friendly high tea and kite workshop at 3:00pm on Saturday.
It is hoped a colourful kite display will take over Eden during the festival.
“Of course we also hope that people, come out and fly their kites during the weekend they might even pick up a trick or two from the professionals."
Eden’s annual Open Garden Festival has had local green thumbs busy digging in the dirt preparing their spectacular gardens and are assured to be the envy of garden lovers. Over the festival weekend a $10 ticket will get you entry into the six gardens on display in and out of town including Kiah and Broadwater.
Organised by the Eden Lioness Club in partnership with the Eden Whale Festival, the Eden & District Open Gardens Festival will see all six gardens open from 10am-4pm on both days.
Organiser Sandra Symonds said “All of the gardens are so very different, the gardeners go to so much effort. It’s really worth taking the opportunity to have a look at the exquisite gardens on show.”
