Before venturing to other locations of the Bega Valley Shire, The Lexus Melbourne Cup made from 44 pieces of hand-beaten gold, valued at $200,000 will begin its tour whale watching in Eden.
The Lexus Melbourne Cup has 157 years of tradition attached to its name, and is travelling to 37 destinations across the globe.
The shire will have the chance to experience the magic of the iconic Melbourne Cup trophy nice and early with some champagne mimosas and fresh sea breeze.
“It is an opportunity for people to get their hands on it have a close look at it, let’s be honest – unless you win it you don’t get to hold it,” Brad Wills of Cat Balou said.
Cat Balou's Lana Wills said the cup will be the most expensive item to board the vessel, although may not be the strangest.
“We had a lady at the beginning of the year that wanted to bring her harp on board, she played it at the back of the boat,” she said.
Cat Balou will be donating five dollars from each ticket sold to Eden Marine Rescue.
“We appreciate all of the great work they do to support the vessels out on the water including ourselves, now this is an opportunity for us to support them,” Ms Wills said.
