Eleven games are scheduled at Eden Soccer Field for Sunday, April 15 for round 2, ranging from the Under 7s team to the senior grades, with most teams playing off against counterparts from the Wolumla Soccer Club.
The opening round of the season saw both of the Eden men and ladies’ senior teams claim a win over visiting Bemboka sides.
Eden Soccer Club president Adam Donaldson said it signalled a positive start to the season.
It doesn’t matter if we win, lose or draw on the day, our goal is to have fun out there.

“It’s still early on, but it was a terrific opener last week and we’re hoping to follow that up on the weekend and further into the season,” he said.
“Everyone did really well, the positive is that all our games were very sportsmanlike, and I think that is a result of everyone’s enthusiasm to be back out on the field.”
Donaldson said the enthusiasm was contagious among the younger teams, which created a “great vibe” picked up across the ground.
“All of our players put forward good performances, and we’re going to build on that with more of the same,” he said.
“It doesn’t matter if we win, lose or draw, on the day, our goal is to have fun out there.
“Of course we’re there to be competitive, but not at the expensive of sportsmanship.”
Donaldson said the club was lucky to play the first two rounds of the season at home before taking a two week hiatus to accommodate the school holidays.
The Eden reserve team claimed a 2-0 victory over Bemboka in the first round, in a “hotly contested” game that pushed the team to earn their win in the season opener.
Likewise, the ladies’ side and reigning premiers claimed a comfortable win over the Bemboka competition in a game “played in good spirit”.
Donaldson commended the Eden Soccer Club committee for their fantastic efforts to get the club back up and running in the new season.
Round two kicks off with Under 7s in Eden from 10am on Sunday, April 15.
