Fruit fly recruits needed
We need the same here in Mallacoota. It’s a losing battle with people owning holiday houses with fruit and citrus trees that are never kept in check. This leads to anyone near to suffer. If you don’t and can’t maintain your fruit trees, chop them down.

It's the same problem up and down the coast. Holiday homes with citrus trees. I lost all my tomatoes and capsicum because of fruit fly. I've contacted Department of Primary Industries, they rang back after a week and said use fly traps. Then I rang CSIRO, no joy. These department don't want to know. Years ago I remember DPI used to come and chop down fruit trees if there was a fruit fly problem.

Tathra bushfire inquiry
Should be at least put underground where the fire has burnt down the poles.
Diana Evans
Yes, underground power is a positive move. It might be expensive, but so is the fall out from fires for people, animals and environment. A holistic approach to health, safety and sustainability is the way forward and brings many benefits to all.

Tura, Tathra, Merimbula, Bega - the whole South Coast needs this! Preferably before the next bushfire season.
