Police allege that both boys made an unsuccessful attempt to break into Eden Public School on Thursday, May 25, before then entering a building and trespassing on property in Eden’s centre.
Following this, police claim that on Friday, May 26, both boys entered a local holiday park without any lawful reason and trespassed within that park, before attempting to break into a sporting business nearby.
Later that evening both boys were allegedly involved with a rock being thrown at, and smashing the driver’s window, of a parked car.
One of the boys will face Eden Children's Court on Wednesday, July 5, charged with eight offences. The other boy has been referred by police for action under the Young Offenders Act.
Police allege that on Sunday, May 28, the boy who will be facing court attended an Eden address where he spray painted the front windscreen of an unattended parked motor vehicle, before running from the area when disturbed.
Police were contacted and shortly after were involved in a foot pursuit of the boy before he was arrested in the backyard of a nearby property.
Chief Inspector Anthony Moodie said the arrests were a result of good investigative and proactive police work.
“This good work was supported by the local community in assisting their local police getting the job done. This is what keeps our great communities down on the Far South Coast safe,” Chief Inspector Moodie said.
“If you have information on criminal activity then please let police know, it may just be the last piece in the puzzle that allows us to move forward.”
