Jameson, 6, and Evelyn, 4, Rogers from Victoria made the discovery which had locals and holiday-makers intrigued.
Resident and author Susie Sarah enlisted the help of the CSIRO, Eden Marine Discovery Centre, Facebook and the Magnet.
“The Marine Discovery Centre identified it as the head of a stingray,” Ms Sarah said. “It certainly had lots of people thinking.”
