Guideline South Coast civil engineering contractors in charge of the works are excited by the recent progress, aided by the unusually warm autumnal weather.
Project coordinator Sue Matthews said work with the machines getting the Chandos St end ready for sealing should be finished by Thursday May 5.
“Friday and the weekend will just have the water cart to keep the dust down,” Ms Matthews said.
“Monday and Tuesday next week will see the bitumen crew doing the final seal.”
Ms Matthews warned that all work except for the water cart will cause major traffic disruptions, and urged the public to be directed by barriers, signage and traffic controllers as required.
