Golf officials were elated as this event over previous years was always contested during November and on many occasions was reduced to one day due to torrential rainfall.
The club thanked major sponsors John Michelin and Son, Eden Concrete and Gippsland Tyre Service for their generous support.
The overall Open winner was the club’s most capped player, Andrew Collins, who amassed rounds of 72 and 70 (142) to win by six shots from Michael Coulter from Tura Beach.
B grade open winner was Gerard Kelly with rounds of 86 and 82 (168) on a count-back from the very unlucky Noel Hall.
Neil Rankin took the C grade honours with superb rounds of 90 and 91 (181) and he defeated Mallacoota visitor Olaf Liedtke who was just four off the pace.
A grade handicap winner was Graeme Cantrill on 141 from runner-up Matt Creswick on 145, while Nowra visitor Colin Stubbs topped B grade on a count-back from Leigh Cockburn.
In C grade, Fred Fethers took the purse on 138 from Max Saunders on 143.
The weekend’s best handicap score went to Neil Rankin, who carded 68 and 69 (137).
In the Saturday daily event Matt Creswick took the top spot on 69 from runner-up Gordon Butt.
Sunday’s daily A grade event was won by Graeme Cantrill on a count-back from Lou Ristanovic.
