Being an individual who is short-sighted, I wear specs most of the time.

There are two occasions I don’t wear my specs.
These are when I go to bed and when I have a shower.
The bottom of the shower recess is an area I don’t see very well.
In the past there’s been another pair of eyes who are keener and see things I do not see.
For some reason, I had cause to look inside the shower recess while I was wearing my specs.
I was really surprised at the build up of scum and 'muck’ on the floor of the shower and in the drain hole.
Once I was aware of the need for a clean, I made sure I scrubbed and cleaned until the shower was presentably clean once more.
As I considered this need, to have the ’right eyes’ when looking at the area of the house which needs cleaning, I’m reminded of the need we have to use the ’right eyes’ when considering the state of cleanliness of our minds and hearts.
The optometrist prescribes, and then provides me with specs with which I can carry on my daily routines with clarity and safety.
God is a Spiritual optometrist who can provide us the ‘right eyes’ to look into our hearts and minds to see the areas needing cleaning and tidying up to bring us into a state where we can be ready to come into God’s presence.
God is then more than ready and willing to get to work and clean us.
The Apostle John, writes the following in one of his letters at the end of the New Testament, "... when we confess our sins, God is faithful and just and will forgive our sins and clean us from all uncleanness".
Are we all prepared to let God look into our hearts and clean us?
He’s waiting for us to ask him right now.
