The ball, on Saturday, June 13, will be held at the Eden Fishermen's Recreation Club.
Flo Young - who has organised the debutante balls for 20 years - said it was a special time for the girls as they dressed up in elegant gowns and gloves, and learnt classic dances such as the Pride of Erin.
The girls, aged 16 and 17, and their partners have attended practice sessions two nights a week for the past seven weeks.
And, according to Ms Young, the young men are as equally keen about the night as the girls.
"Some of the boys and girls have been friends since kindergarten," Ms Young said.
They will be presented to the Venerable David Ruthven, Anglican Archdeacon for the South Coast.
Jill Archer, owner The Little Bouquet, Merimbula, will make the posies and buttonholes for the couples, as well as bouquets for the special guests.
Ms Archer sources her flowers from the Melbourne Markets, together with some local stock.
While the type of flowers is being kept a surprise, Ms Archer said she had planned something very special to celebrate the ball's golden anniversary.
Simone Griffiths, manager of Georgie's Fine Jewellery, Eden, said the ball presented the girls with the opportunity to choose a special piece of jewellery to complement their gown and hair style.
Ms Griffiths said parents sometimes purchased jewellery as a keepsake gift for their daughters.
Swarovski crystals and pearls were popular choices and her staff were always happy to offer advice.
Memories from the night will be recorded by Angi High Photography.
