The highlight of the celebrations will be an Easter hat parade, the feature of which will be beanies.
Buskers from the Eden Marine High School will perform, while the parade of beanies will keep passers-by entertained.
Parade organiser Susie Sarah said that Tribal Suzani had donated many weird and wonderful beanies to show in the parade.
“It is going to be a very unusual parade with some outlandish beanies," Ms Sarah said.
"Some of the beanies will be modelled by Friends of the Eden Killer Whale Museum.”
School children, Eden residents and Easter holiday visitors to Eden are also invited to join in.
“We encourage everyone to decorate a beanie and be in the running for some great Easter prizes,” Ms Sarah said.
“Being on the raised steps of the hotel means everyone will get a great view and be able to cheer for their favourite beanie.”
The parade is part of the campaign to create Australia’s biggest beanie, with funds raised from the day going towards Bega Hospital’s Oncology Department and Wig Library.
The aim is to create Australia's biggest beanie out of knitted squares which will then be placed aloft the lighthouse at the Eden Killer Whale Museum.
A guessing competition to work out how many squares will comprise the giant beanie will be open to entries on the day, as will the opportunity to sponsor a knitted square.
Ms Sarah said Eden Marine High School had provided great support for the cause, not only providing the buskers but also completing 140 squares for the beanie.
“There will be music in the streets, lots of creative beanies and the chance to win prizes – we hope lots of people will join us,” Ms Sarah said.
Prizes will be given for the best knitted and crocheted beanies as well as the best decorated and most outlandish beanie.
The activities start at 10am.
