A large section of the road remains untarred, including the single lane bridge.
According to Happy Valley Road residents, Bega Valley Shire Council was supposed to seal the road, erect additional safety signs and fix various potholes by November last year.
"The council said it would be tarred a long time ago and there are no street lights at all along the road and no signs saying that it is a one-lane bridge," one disgruntled Happy Valley resident told the Eden Magnet.
"It's gone on too long now," the resident said.
Large potholes can also be clearly seen along Wirriga Street, close to the southern end of Happy Valley Road.
The road, which is gravel at the crest of the hill on the southern side and remains gravel for the descent into the bridge, has many potholes along it including several deep ones on the bridge itself.
"You get someone driving across the bridge at night and if they hit one of those potholes on the bridge they would go straight over the side," the resident said.
"There should be guardrails put up because the drop from the bridge is a long way down," he said.
Two weeks ago when the Magnet took these photos, there were no Slow Down or Single Lane Bridge signs on either side of the bridge.
"It's just lucky only locals use this road because if a tourist used it they'd probably drive straight off the bridge," another Happy Valley Road resident who lives close to the bridge said.
The council recently installed narrow bridge warning signs.
And it appears a more permanent solution to the problem road is about to be found.
A council spokesperson told the Magnet that following discussions with the construction coordinator Happy Valley Road was on a works' program, with sealing to be completed by the end of March.
"When the gravel road is graded and prepared for sealing the undulated surface will be trimmed, filling any pot holes prior to sealing," the spokesperson said.
