The ‘Exemplary Student Award’, for a boy and girl in each year group, is a new award for excellent students at Eden Marine High School.
This prestigious award fits within Eden Marine High School’s core values of Respect, Responsibility & Resilience and the Positive Behaviour for Success structure as a Long & Strong form of recognition (awards earned over a long period of time).
The “Exemplary Student Award” demands of a student personal conduct, commitment to work and a level of school involvement of a consistently high level.
Exemplary students demonstrate respect: for oneself, others and property, they listen, follow instructions and communicate with courtesy, take responsibility: for learning, behaviour and our environment.
Students know their timetable, allow others to learn and take ownership of their actions.
They show resilience through being positive, resourceful and persistent.
Students make the most of their opportunities, strive to improve and achieve their personal best at school.
To be considered eligible for this award, a student has to be nominated by teachers every term.
Congratulations to the inaugural group of Exemplary Students from late last year, who include: Alice Dean & Taj Wedutenko (year 7);
Anna Auer & Shannon Butterfield (year 8);
Caitlyn Jordan & James Sediakin (year 9);
Amy Giggins & Wally Samuels Connell (year 10);
Madeline Newton & Brendan Winnel (year 11);
and Kali Devi Samuels & Padric O’Rourke (year 12).
And the PBS (Positive Behaviour for Success)award went to Mikayla McCamish (Yr 11) who was the excited winner of the Ipad mini.
