Member for Bega Andrew Constance has announced that the NSW Footy Facilities Fund is now open for applications.
The program is a joint initiative of the NRL and NSW Government, and offers funding for projects throughout NSW.
“This program is an important initiative that will help fund grassroots footy clubs in our region and throughout NSW,” Mr Constance said.
“I would encourage all our local Group 16 clubs to apply.
“The Candelo-Bemboka United Rugby League Club was successful in the last round of funding securing $40,000 for upgrades to Colombo Park at Bemboka.”
Mr Constance said it was a simple application process that can benefit the whole community.
“Members of the sporting community understand that modern, safe facilities will increase participation in the future, these grants are an excellent way to make that happen.
“The NRL and the NSW Government want to get behind our local footy clubs, and support this vision.”
The main objectives of the Footy Facilities Fund are to:
• Increase regular and on-going participation opportunities in rugby league; and
• Improve the standard of rugby league grounds and facilities.
Applications can be strengthened with proposed upgrades to field safety, access, pathways and ramps or the upgrade of security including fencing.
Upgrades to amenities are also vregarded highly in the application process as well as environmentally sustainable upgrades.
Applications for the Footy Facilities Fund close on January 9.
