The eight members of the winning team were all smiles as district president Beryl McGrath-Smith presented each with a winner’s badge, before posing with the prestigious Pennant flag.
They will now travel to Bega for the Zone playoffs, taking on two other clubs in matches over Monday and Tuesday for a place in the State playoffs.
McGrath-Smith said the three-peat is a fantastic achievement for the club.
“The competition goes for about six or eight weeks, and teams from all the clubs in the area participate,” she said.
“Eden happens to have been in the grade four Pennant, and they’ve won it against quite stiff competition.
“I’ve come to present the Pennant, which is a flag that goes up each time they play in the competition, and a badge for each individual person who has put in the effort to play.”
McGrath-Smith said the grade two competition had been taken out by Tura, with Tathra claiming the grade three title.
She also credited the Eden club on its hospitality off the green.
“It’s a lovely club to come to; they’re always warm and welcoming.
“And they put on lovely morning teas,” she joked.
Eden Women’s Bowling Club acting president Jan Pyke said the team’s continued success would mean a promotion to grade three, where they previous competed before their run of dominance.
Pyke also urged anyone who may be interested in joining the club to get in touch.
“It’s a great achievement, and we’d like more bowlers to come along and do what the girls are doing,” Pyke said.
“We’re here every Tuesday from 9.30am, and if anyone would like to get involved, you are more than welcome to come down to the Eden Gardens Country Club or call me on 6496 2126.”
