The service runs each Thursday between 9 and 10.30am, and 1.30 and 3pm, and is designed to help people complete important day-to-day tasks like shopping.
Eight weeks into the six-month trial, BVCTS manager Robyn Adams said the response has been disappointing, and would need to improve for the service to continue.
She encouraged locals to jump on board and take advantage of the trial, which has the potential to become a permanent service if numbers pick up.
“We’ve only had two people register with us so far, and we haven’t actually transported anyone, which is very disappointing,” Ms Adams said.
“We did say it was a six-month trial, but to continue running it if we’re not transporting anyone is obviously not a good use of our resources.
“If people were to start using it, there is the potential for it to become a permanent service, but that won’t happen if it stays the way it is now.”
Those wishing to use the Eden bus need to register as a client by calling BVCTS on 6492 4188 between 9am and 4pm, Monday to Friday.
Registered clients are then sent an information pack, which includes the driver’s phone number.
Transport can be booked on the day, or the day before the bus runs, and pick-up and drop-off times can be negotiated with the driver.
A small contribution fee of $4 each way will be charged for people in the township of Eden, while residents travelling from outside the 60km/h signs can negotiate their contribution when registering.
