The official opening of the Eden Whale Festival included musical renditions from the Eden Marine High School and public school, as well as local favourite The Wobbles.
More than 70 guests attended the opening, while some tourists stumbled upon the ceremony and decided to stick around.
Bega Valley Shire councillor Sharon Tapscott officially opened the event before guests enjoyed a morning tea.
The festival will run across the weekend. For information see the 2017 online magazine.
