Eden Cash Mob
Saturday saw Eden’s Cash Mob visit Art on Imlay. Everyone had a great time mingling and looking over over the exhibits. Maree Smith and Jill Henry each won a $20 voucher to spend thanks to Our Eden Chamber of Commerce and Roses Property Management, we also had a $20 voucher donated by Jo at Sweet Shoes and Handbags this was Won by Adele. Also anyone who missed out last month received a Eden Killer Whale Museum Voucher. Morning tea was enjoyed at Martins Pie Place. If you were unable to attend please try and call in through the week with over 50 exhibitors you are sure to find a perfect gift with prices starting from $2. Next time there will be four vouchers to win with Sweet Shoes and Handbags, Roses Property Management, Our Eden and $50 at Art on Imlay so see you on Saturday, September 2.

Eden Community Market
Eden’s Community Market is on again this Saturday, August 19, from 10am until 2pm, in the grounds of Eden Uniting Church, Chandos St, Eden. Come and have a cuppa and listen to the great music. Handcrafts, information about the Snug Cove development and all the usual stalls.
Trash and Treasure
Can Assist is holding their annual Trash and Treasure sale at the Bega Show Ground on September 16. If you would like to help out with a donation of saleable goods please contact Peter on 0439 321 945 and arrange collection of donations or take goods to the Show Ground on Friday, September 15. All money raised goes to assist Cancer Patients in the Bega Valley.
Art on Imlay
Art on Imlay are holding art and craft demonstrations on the last Saturday of every month, on Saturday, August 26, learn how to paint a contemporary acrylic painting and do clay modelling, come along and see how it is done from 10am till 12.30pm.

FREE LEGAL ADVICE
On Wednesday, August 23 a solicitor from Nowra’s Shoalcoast Community Legal Centre will be visiting Eden.
Shoalcoast is situated in Nowra and regularly offers free telephone advice to residents of the South Coast. Shoalcoast solicitors are experienced in resolving many types of legal problems. Our advice clinics provide residents of the south coast with a good opportunity to get free professional advice regarding their legal problem.
The solicitor will be at the Eden Access Centre from 10.30am until 1.30pm.
Appointments can be made for many types of legal problems – Shoalcoast deals with most non-commercial areas of law, including consumer credit and debt, family law involving children, victims compensation for childhood assault, sexual assault or domestic violence, Centrelink problems, employment and tenancy.
Shoalcoast’s other services include weekly telephone advice sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 10am and 12noon. Telephone during these times for staff to complete a client intake and a solicitor will call you back.

Sapphire Coast Orchid Club
The Sapphire Coast Orchid Club will be holding it’s annual Winter Orchid Display on Friday and Saturday, August 18-19, 9am–5pm and Sunday, August 20, 9am–1pm at Twyford Hall, Merimbula. Entry is free. Some orchid plants will be on sale. For information contact Les on 6495 9012.
Beekeeping workshop
The Bega Valley Beekeepers Club will be holding a one-day Beginning in Bees workshop on Saturday, September 23 and again on Sunday, September 24, 9am to 2pm, in the Historic Old Bega Hospital grounds. It includes theory followed by guided hands-on work with bees after lunch. The cost is $60 (members $40). ROTARY LOCAL HEROES
Join Gav and Col at 8.30am on Friday on Sapphire FM 97.5 for a scintillating 30 minutes of fun and trivia before the real stuff clicks in at 9am with our usual lineup of interesting guests. Each hour we feature local people who have done/are doing fascinating things. And we listen to their music which is also interesting.
Blackboard Night
Nethercote Music Factory is hosting its Blackboard night on Saturday, August 19 at 6pm at Nethercote Hall. BYO instruments and refreshments. $5 donation entry. Free sizzling sausage sanger on arrival with deliciously grilled onion. Sumptuous supper available. And if it takes your fancy to bring something for the supper please feel free, then yours will be free.
OPEN GARDENS
We are looking for anyone who would like to have their garden 'open to the public' on October 28 and 29 for our annual Open Garden event. This event, held on the weekend prior to the Whale Festival, has proved to be extremely popular with gardening enthusiasts. Funds raised go back into the community.
