The combined under 18s had a bye round over the weekend.
In the first grade fixture, the Tigers opened the account with Matt Whitehead finding space on the edge, but the Heelers fought back quickly with Tyler Jones finding the line for the visitors to lead 6-4.
Whitehead again struck for the Tigers, with Joe Sagoe backing up soon after for the Eden side to hold the lead 16-6.
Alex Rosten got one back for Bombala and the hosts led 16-12 at the break.
Bombala fired out of the sheds in the second half where their big men laid the groundwork for the club, muscling up through the middle.
Adam Rodwell, Luke Ingram and Paul Perkins ran out the metres down the middle with support from Sami Buinmasi, who made a couple of line breaks and found offloads to Zac Slater and Andrew Guthrie.
Jones again stepped the Eden defence to edge the Heelers in front 18-16, before Paul Perkins was in place to score and the margin went to 22-16.
The Blue Heelers were starting to take control as they held off attacking runs from the Eden outfit, but continued pressuring into the hosts’ territory on the ground.
Rosten ran in a sprint from the wing to score under the posts before Jones capped off a great round to lock in the final score of 34-16 with the Tigers unable to find the tryline in the second half.
The result leaves the first grade Tigers languishing near the bottom of the competition ladder in seventh place, ahead of the Bay Tigers, who are yet to score a first grade win this season.
Unfortunately for Eden, it was an entirely lop sided affair in the ladies league-tag fixture as the Bombala High Heelers locked in a convincing 46-0 result.
Natasha Stewart and Georgina Clarke were the main offenders for the Bombala outfit, securing two tries apiece on the day.
The Tigresses are seventh in the ladies competition ahead of the Bay and the Candelo-Bemboka Pink Panthers.
The club’s portability reserve grade side also suffered a loss to the visiting Bombala club on the day.
Bermagui-Cobargo winger Trevor Thomas was able to find the line to score a four-pointer for the Eels.
But the Bombala club took control through sheer size and power in the middle to run in a number of tries with Andrew Rutherford leading the charge with two. The Eels unfortunately now slump to bottom of the ladder.
This weekend the Tigers will be at home on George Brown Memorial Oval to host the Merimbula-Pambula Bulldogs.
There will be a full four-game draw with under 18s from 10.30, league-tag at noon, reserves from 1pm and the first grade to kick off at 2.30pm.
