Mural fallout
Violence against anyone is unacceptable. But a background check? Really? How many high profile sports stars have criminal records, often for DV, DUI and drug offences? Are they then out of the running for sports medals? Does society turn their back on their (sometimes dubious) talent? No. No one supports what Lee Cruse has been convicted of. But to support his art and culture is not turning a blind eye to his crimes. Hopefully having his art recognised is such a public way will give him a sense of pride and accomplishment that will help him find a better path in life

His art may be great, but when it comes down to it he’s a crimanal in jail for violence. A young up and coming Aboriginal artist from one of the schools should have their art displayed. No one is going to have the balls to publicly say it’s wrong to display a crims art. Tear it down and put up a artist with a bit of respect for others and is somewhat of a role model.
