Club officials decided that play would resume after a 45 minute break, but many players chose not to proceed and only players that were in contention continued their round.
Organisers thanked the 2015 Eden Open sponsors J Michelin and Son and Gippsland Tyre Service, who have been loyal supporters of the club.
Winner of the 36 hole open championships was the clubs most capped player in the modern era Andrew Collins.
Collins carded rounds of 66-74=140.
Nett overall 36-hole winner was John Fogden, who recorded rounds of 65-69=134.
Scratch winners in division one two and three were Lindsay Caldwell, Ian Smith and John Walker respectively.
Saturday’s daily event was kindly sponsored by Jeffrey and Betty Brown.
A grade winner was Andrew Collins on 67 from runner-up Lindsay Caldwell on 69.
B grade winner was Ian Smith on 63, while Malcolm Barnes finished runner-up on 68.
C grade winner was Neville Taylor on 63 with John Fogden’s 65 good enough to claim the second place.
The monthly medal winner was Neville Taylor on a count-back from Ian Smith, while the ball rundown was recorded at 72 nett.
Nearest to the pins were the third Mike Maxworthy and Rod Whitford.
The 10th went to Lindsay Caldwell, while the 18th was claimed by Collins.
Whyalla visitor Simon Stuart scored the golden shot on the seventh.
Stuart thoroughly enjoyed the course and was one of two golfers to fire an eagle on the 15th as he and James Wheeler shot the fantastic score.
Best scratch round went to Collins with 66.
A grade winner was Phil Innes on 67 with Lindsay Caldwell again finishing runner-up.
B grade winner was Jeff Adams on 64 from runner-up Gerard Kelly on 70.
C grade winner was Veteran Howard Hill on 62 from runner-up John Walker on 67.
Ball rundown was recorded at 74 nett.
Nearest the pins were John Miller, Robert Whitford, Phil Innes and the golden shot to Geoff Sims.
Saturday will be the December monthly medal. .
December 12 is the club’s Christmas party with a shotgun start for an ambrose round at 11am.
