The atmosphere of relaxation and personal enjoyment for all ages at the goldfield located at Wallaga Lake between Bermagui and Narooma was almost tangible.
The lovely weather contributed of course but the tour guiding, food preparation, entertainment and venue was greatly appreciated by the many people who turned up.
The Moments of Montreal Madness production had its funny bits, with skits by local artists, a variety of gold mining ballads by the Montreal Pit Singers who were in fine voice for the World Premier of the "Song of Montreal", and last but not least, the nationally awarded reciter of poetry, Len Morris.
“A big thank-you to everyone who did so much to make the day so special,” goldfield committee member Judy Hearn said.
“The number of volunteers involved was enormous and made the day worthwhile.”
