Lumen Christi Catholic College staff, students and parents gathered in the college hall for the first whole school Mass of 2015 on Friday 13th February.
Father James presided over proceedings, emphasising the importance of the College’s liturgical theme for 2015, the Earth is full of the goodness of the Lord.
He made reference to the beautiful environment in which we live and how we may contribute to our habitat through our beliefs and actions.
Recently, all Lumen Christi students were presented with native trees to plant and nurture.
During the Mass, four unique paintings of the Lumen Christi Houses’ patron saints were revealed to the school community; St. Lucy (Baringa), St. Brendan the Navigator (Gudu), St. Francis of Assisi (Bobberrer) and St. Mary of the Cross McKillop (Monaroo).
The paintings were created by local artist Ann Brosnan and will be placed in House areas within the college.
2015 Primary and Secondary student leaders were presented with their badges following the Mass, where they all recited a pledge to lead responsibly and promote the ideals of the Lumen Christi community.
