Cook shot a thrilling two over par 74 to win the championship from a solid field of entrants.
Organiser, and Eden club professional, Loraine Lambert said Cook was the first female winner in the competition’s history.
“It was a very interesting situation as this has never happened before, a girl having a better score than a boy,” Lambert said.
“But she had the best overall score of the day and that should be recognised as the winner.”
Good numbers turned out for the event with 21 in the Junior Open and 12 for the nine-hole cadets event.
Support from local clubs boosted the entries for this year’s event, and organisers said they were happy to see entrants having fun.
“It is great to see the support of all the clubs for making an effort to play in this event, we really do appreciate it and its great to see all the kids, they grow up so quickly,” Lambert said.
The win in the boys’ division was shared by both Lachlan Ingram (Moyura) and Blake Dowling (Bega).
Both players had 79 strokes to finish in a draw, while third place went to Lincoln Warne from Pambula-Merimbula.
Fourth place went to Jack Roberts.
The winner in the nett event on a count-back was Lachlan Considine from Pambula and the runner up was Dyllan Ralston from Catalina Country Club.
Organisers said the cadets event was played in good spirits too.
“All had a fun time and the card draw was won by Lily Ralston and Jayden Granger,” Lambert said.
