Weather update: gale warning, winter temperatures set in

Winter mornings are bringing with them cooler temperatures. Every day this week, with the exception of Saturday, with drop as low as 6°C.

A gale force wind warning is in place for the Eden coast on Tuesday, with southwesterly winds of 20-30 knots and a chance of thunderstorms in the morning.

For those heading out on the water, winds will reach up to 35 knots offshore, south of Green Cape on Tuesday morning.

Aside from the chance of thunderstorms on Tuesday morning, we’re not expecting to see much rain this week, with a few showers forecast for Saturday, but otherwise dry conditions predicted.

Temperatures will drop as low as 6°C on each day except Saturday, which will have a minimum of 11°C.

You can tell winter has hit though, with 19°C the predicted top for this week.

Seas are currently 2-3m, with a southerly swell of 1-2m.

Winds will subside over the coming days, with southwesterly winds of 15-20 knots forecast for Wednesday, and 10-15 knots for Thursday.
