63 years. We liked Eden so much when we moved here, my late husband John resigned from teaching and went to work at the cannery. We raised our two children here.
What do you like most about your job?
When the children went to school I went back to nursing at Pambula Hospital and I worked in a pharmacy. But my main job has been teaching piano - music has been the most important thing to me after family. I love being at EVIC, chatting to people, meeting the tourists that come in. I like being able to help them to do the things they want to do. I also love being at the op shop (Sapphire Surprises) and meeting new people there.
What do you like least about your job?
I am happy in what I am doing now, I look forward to my days.
What's your favourite place in Eden and/or the Bega Valley?
My upstairs balcony and its wonderful view of Twofold Bay. I'm very lucky.
If you won $1million what would you do first?
I would faint, then book a long holiday. I would share it with my amazing family and donate some to a charity of my choice.
What is one thing you cannot live without?
The love of my family. I miss having family close by.
What are three words that describe Eden best?
Caring, beautiful, friendly.
What do you think Eden needs the most as a community?
As an elderly person, we seriously need a retirement village. If I left my home, there would be nowhere for me to go in Eden. We are an ageing population and there's only so much overworked home care workers can do.
