The Merimbula and District Garden Club is encouraging keen gardeners, especially those who may be new to the area, to join them and learn more about gardening on the Far South Coast.

Committee member Carole Thomas said it was a chnce to meet like-minded people and get advice on what to grow.
"Also if you're looking for a special plant, the group can help and there's a 10 per cent discount at local nurseries for members," Ms Thomas said.

"Start the New Year off learning how to get the best from your garden," she said.
"The 67-strong member club meets on the fourth Saturday of the month (starting February) at the Merimbula RSL at 10am for 10.30am and there's plenty of opportunity to get more involved through committee positions."
The club has been going for 23 years and holds regular meetings often with a guest speaker to give advice on a particular topic. There are visits to some of the region's best gardens as well as a trading table and chance to get cuttings and swap advice.
