For many it revolves around the giving and receiving of gifts. For others it will be the ability to have time with family, or friends, for the first time in a very long while.

As I look forward to this great Season, I think about the excitement levels building up amongst the angels in heaven at the time Jesus was to be born. Old Testament prophets had been reminding people of God's promise to send a rescuer for hundreds and hundreds of years. THE night eventually came and a huge angelic choir was getting ready for their biggest show, ever. To go and sing, to their very best, to a bunch of shepherds.

Imagine God counting them in to start this great performance. Words of this great choral performance were introduced by one angel announcing to the shepherds, "Don't be afraid. I'm here to announce a great and joyful event that's meant for everybody, worldwide. Your Saviour has been born-Jesus Christ the Lord."

Then, the whole angelic choir got the nod and started their performance, "Glory to God in the Heavenly heights. Peace to all men and women on earth." What a gig !

Unfortunately, despite the wonder of this Christmas season, there are many who will find little for which to be thankful and happy about this year. It is a great challenge for each of us to show love and concern to everyone we meet in the same way Almighty God showed His concern and love for everyone in sending Jesus, that vey first Christmas.

Jesus is the 'Reason for the Season'.
