Team leader for Eden Community Pantry Pam Skelton said the lunch is now fully booked and was primarily organised for previous clientele of regular Monday lunches, which have been in recess due to COVID.
"We are planning to make it a special occasion for those who may have be missing the connection of the community in recent times," Pam said.
"It will be something of a reunion and a celebration, not only of Christmas but also in the hope that 2022 will be a better year and we can resume our regular lunches together again.
"We have have so much generous support from the community this year. This lunch has had very kind support from head chef Danielle Collins and is also being sponsored by the Social Justice Advocates of the Sapphire Coast and John Palasty at Core Asset Development.
"I would like to give special thanks for our trusted band of regular volunteers who have given so much throughout 2021," Pam said.
The event will be held at Eden Uniting Church Hall in Chandos Street and is only able to seat 50 guests because of COVID constraints.
The last pantry day for 2021 is this Thursday, December 16 from 10am-1pm.
