The woman in her 60s has been now removed from the vehicle and has been taken to Merimbula Airport from where she is likely to be taken to Canberra.
She is in a serious but stable condition with leg, neck and back injuries.
The woman in 20s has been taken to South East Regional Hospital and is in a stable condition, with a serious leg injury.
The female driver of a third car, which was impacted less seriously, was uninjured.
A NSW Police spokesperson said the highway was closed in both directions for about 3 hours with traffic diverted around the accident site along Nethercote Road.
Inquiries into the cause of the crash are underway.
EARLIER:
A collision involving three cars on the Princes Highway near Haycock Road, 5km north of Eden, has closed the Princes Highway in both directions.
NSW Ambulance said a call was received just before 8.45am with reports of a head-on collision.
A NSW Police spokesperson said emergency services were called to the Princes Highway at Broadwater following reports of collision between three cars.
Two female drivers were injured as a result of the incident.
A woman in her 20s has reportedly suffered leg injuries and possible hip injuries.
Another woman is in her 60s and was trapped by confinement. She has possible neck back and head injuries as well as leg injuries.
A third woman escaped injury.
A helicopter is on the way to the scene from Canberra.
Expect delays and avoid the area. Diversions are in place northbound via Nethercote Rd from Eden and southbound via Nethercote Rd from Greigs Flat.
