The Sapphire Coast Turf Club will be able to host as many as 3000 guests with a keen eye on the Melbourne Cup the following week.
"We've got plenty of room and the means to provide people a fun and safe day out in the sun," said club manager-secretary Rob Tweedie.
"It will be good to have people back and the overall inkling in the community is a bit of excitement to be back on track - obviously with precautions in place."
Mr Tweedie said the track was in pristine condition following a few smatterings of rain in recent days and would be idyllic for the race day.
Guests will still need to practice social distancing and check in via QR code at the entry, which will only be open to those who are double vaccinated in line with the State Government's current restrictions.
"Some people are a little bit reserved about our new freedoms, but we're keeping our guards up to make sure we're all doing the right thing," Mr Tweedie.
"The kiosk and the bar will be open and running, so it's essentially a regular race day with those social distancing safety measures."
The club will open the gates for a full-TAB seven race card with local bookmakers on hand for punters as well, while Mr Tweedie said a significant number off off-season upgrades had been done to improve the race-goer experience at the track.
"We've really been working on enhancing the race-goer experience for everyone out here, and we've found there is a lot of interest in the community in getting involved."
The Sapphire Coast Turf Club is located on Sapphire Coast Drive about 5 minutes north of Merimbula.
Mr Tweedie encourages all those looking for a bit of a social outing to head along.
"By all means bring a picnic lunch and a blanket and set yourself up to have a nice day," he said.
