A little comic relief has appeared for those of us stuck in lockdown and glued to daily COVID-19 case number press conferences, after subtitles from an ACT press conference wrongly interpreted Canberrans as Ken Behrens.
The subsequent memes, Twitter handles and Instagram accounts which have appeared all have one resounding message: we are all Ken Behrens.
Originating from an unintentional shout out from Chief Minister Andrew Barr, Ken Behrens has since been acknowledged by ACT Health and sprung its own line of merchandise.
A quick thinking altruist has created a Ken Behrens clothing line with donations going directly to OzHarvest.
A Canberra mask maker has gotten involved too with novelty Ken Behrens face masks.
"Hopefully it brings a smile to anyone I cross (distant) paths with," Katina Curtis posted to Instagram.
The @RealKenBehrens Twitter handle, which is fast gaining traction, describes themselves as a typical Canberra resident: "APS 6, dressed by Kathmandu, certified Settler of Catan, Brodburger eating, gin drinker, resident of Camp Baron, Subaru driver".

The meme has sparked several offshoots with Camp Baron, a misinterpretation of Canberra, taking on its own life.
As much of the east coast sits at home in lockdowns one thing is for certain, Ken Behrens is exactly what everybody need right now - be they a Canberran or no.
