In cold drizzly conditions at the Tathra Beach Country Club grounds, play reached some moments of high tension as the Tigers fired back to match the Killer Whales at 1-1 and then 2-2 early in the second half.
However, the Killer Whales kept their cool and were able to capitalise on a few shots on goal later in the piece to seal the win.
The Tigers had been able to shut out Eden's attack for good sections of play, but the Killer Whales were consistently able to get a runner loose from the middle to provide an option and it led to the opening goal when a frontal strike was deflected well, but a loose player on the right of the net volleyed well to nail the opening goal.
Chloe Grant and Emma Kettle linked up well for the Tigers pushing play through the wings to find some strike options of their own and it was Grant who levelled things up both times.
The Killer Whales were left without star striker Amber Seckold fairly early in the piece with an ankle injury,
Wolumla veteran Kirsty McPaul had some good battles in the middle for possession against the long-range Kate and Mel Mitchell, while Deb Heron had some good passages through the middle and also pressed the attack when the Killers pushed up forward.
Later in the piece Alicia Ambrose made some good burst runs up the right flank for Wolumla, but Bhud Bobbin and Jasmine Lefel-Horton provided a stoic defence in the Eden back line.
With scores locked at 2-2 by early in the second half, both clubs were keen to get a match winner through, but it was the Killer Whales making the best of their options with a long-range Charli Mitchell strike curling in to lead 3-2.
The Killer Whales consolidated later in play when Imogen Webster fired in a fine header off a corner kick to propel themselves to a 4-2 lead.
The play and her earlier defensive efforts earned her the player of the week award with the club. \
The Eden reserve grade men's team contained the second-place Bemboka Braves to a 1-0 win at Colombo Park on Sunday.
Aidam Lambourne took out the player of the week award with the club saying "he was in everything - attack and defence" on social media.
The club has only put on one victory in the reserve grade competition, but has been putting some highly placed teams to the test in recent weeks with hard-fought draws and close matches.
This weekend the Killer Whales will play host to the Pambula Penguins in the women's draw with the club hopeful that Seckold will be rested ahead of the weekend. Kick off at 12.50pm.
The reserves will also be hosting the Penguins with an 11.20am kick off.
